Is it possible to learn how to use a gematria decoder yourself?

Gematria is an ancient method of assigning numerical codes to words and phrases which can then be used for a variety of hidden meanings within a text. Gematria has been used in many religions over the centuries, allowing its practitioners to search for hidden connections within and between religious texts and to assign layers of meaning to the text itself. It is believed that this practice dates back as far as Babylonian times, with many variations and approaches having been applied throughout various cultures.

As gematria itself is a largely mystery-based practice, the idea behind learning how to use it effectively can seem highly daunting - which is why some people may instead turn to purchasing a ready-made gematria decoder. A gematria decoder allows a user to quickly figure out numerical equivalents of words or phrases, simplifying the entire process. Unfortunately however, when relying solely on outside sources such as these – it may be impossible for one to learn how to truly use gematria in their own work.

That being said, it is quite possible for someone with some background knowledge in mathematics or cryptography to learn how to use a gematria decoder by themselves, with enough time and effort put in. To do this one must first understand the basic sofrima (alphabetical) system which acts as the foundation of Gematria - each letter being assigned its own numerical equivalency and then added up accordingly based on the words used. Once an understanding of this foundation is achieved by study - one can then begin looking at equations that are linked specifically with their chosen decoder system in order to decode phrases of their own more effectively.
